Gold and silver threads have a rich history in traditional Japanese culture, having been used in various contexts such as Shinto rituals, attire for nobility, Sumo wrestlers' mawashi belts, and during festivals like the Gion Festival in Kyoto. These threads are created by spirally twisting fine pieces of gold and silver leaf around a core thread made of silk or cotton.

The highest-quality gold thread is meticulously crafted by hand, with each sheet of pure gold leaf being carefully stamped onto lacquered Japanese paper and then cut into thin strips.

Since 1897, Terashima Yasutara Shoten has been a dedicated producer of gold and silver threads, with a vision to integrate them into our daily lives. This vision gave birth to ‘絲 Tabane,' a collection of jewelry accessories.
Tabane accessories are crafted by rolling the finished gold and silver thread onto frames and bundling them, resulting in a new form of jewelry that elegantly showcases the purity of these precious threads.

Crafted by the hands of artisans, the Tabane accessories evoke beauty and a certain softness. When worn, they create a new expression for both slightly formal and casual occasions.
