Since then, thanks to the untiring efforts of successive generations of potters, the kiln never ceased to burn and the know-how was passed down from craftsman to craftsman till the present day.
The Uzan kiln has inherited the traditional techniques of Shigaraki but while keeping the traditions alive, the Uzanyou workshop proposes ceramics that incorporate the Japanese concept of « Yo-no-bi » where functionality (Yo) is combined beauty (Bi) to meet the needs today's lifestyles. Constantly searching for innovation and new sensitivities in their work, Uzanyou’s goal is to create vessels that continue to grow with their users and that have the capacity of gently illuminating the objects placed in them.
