In Senshu, in the Osaka region, the abundant water flowing from the Senshu Mountains has been a valuable resource in the production of towels for over 130 years. This plentiful water source has never dried up and underground water is drawn from a depth of 200 meters.
Creating sustainably with water
Senshu Towels utilizes the 'sasarashi' finishing technique, where the woven fabric is subjected to a process of starching and then undergoing a finishing treatment. This process effectively removes impurities, oils, and dirt from the cotton, resulting in a clean and pleasant-to-touch towel from the very beginning. Moreover, the 'sasarashi' technique requires fewer production steps, reducing the amount of water and energy used. Towel production consumes a significant amount of water, resulting in a substantial amount of wastewater. However, Senshu Towels not only adhere to the required standards but also implement additional filtration measures, returning clean water back to Osaka Bay. Senshu Towels strive for a or sustainable production in respect of the natural environment, now and for the future.
Living with water
We wipe our faces in the morning, dab away sweat during the day, and wrap our bodies at night. A towel is something that constantly touches our skin and remains by our side in our daily lives. The most essential quality a towel should possess is its water absorbency. Through the 'sasarashi' technique, the Senshu Towel is thin, quick-drying, and compact at the same time. It is easy to use every day, convenient to wash, fold, and store, seamlessly integrating into our daily lives. As a thinner towel, the SenshuTowel also requires less water during washing thus cherishing and preserving this precious resource.
Safeguarding water and our planet
The art of towel-making in Senshu has flourished for over 130 years, thanks to the abundant water resources in the region. With gratitude for the natural blessing of this abundant water, Senshu Towel continues to prioritize environmentally friendly production methods that make efficient use of water. In order to support the future of our planet, Senshu Towel donates to environmental conservation organizations. We will carry on the tradition of towel-making for harmonious living with water and nature’s resources.
Moving forward, we will protect water and create with water, producing towels that harmonize with your lifestyle.

A towel that becomes more absorbent and softer
with each wash
Yukinone is a towel that has been further specialized in absorbency through the process of removing excess oil from the cotton fibers, causing the fibers themselves to close up and enhancing their water absorption during subsequent drying. This unique process creates a distinct and satisfying sensation, greatly improving the towel's absorbency. With each wash, the fibers become more relaxed, resulting in an exquisite soft and absorbent texture.
Organic cotton is used for all parts except the colored portions.

Precautions for usage:
・During the initial wash, some shedding of fibers may occur.
・Dark-colored towels may experience color bleeding, so avoid washing them with other items.
・Avoid using chlorine bleach or detergents containing fluorescent brighteners.
・The use of fabric softeners may hinder absorbency and contribute to shedding.
・As the pile of the towel is prone to snagging and pulling, we recommend using a laundry net.
・If any threads are pulled or snagged, simply cut them with scissors."
