This exquisite Wajima lacquerware cup is renowned for its robust elegance, referred to as 'Kenrou Yuubi' in Japanese. The interior is finished with 'Aka-urushi' (red lacquer), while the exterior features ‘Tame-nuri’, a deep lacquer finish. 'Tame-nuri' involves applying transparent lacquer over a red undercoat, creating a depth of color where the red lacquer subtly shows through. With use, the cup develops a unique patina and becomes a distinguished piece.
